Our Promise
Bringing home a Bengal kitten is an exciting and meaningful transition—for you and for your kitten. At Brigite’s Bengals, we don’t just breed Bengals; we raise them with intention, structure, and care so they’re prepared to thrive in their new homes.
This guide walks you through what to expect before pickup, on arrival day, and during your kitten’s first week at home, helping ensure a smooth, confident transition for both of you.
Before Pickup: How Your Kitten Is Prepared
Every Bengal kitten from Brigite’s Bengals is raised in a home environment with daily human interaction, routine feeding schedules, and early exposure to household sounds and activity.
Before going home, your kitten will:
-
Be appropriately aged for placement
-
Be litter trained
-
Harnassed Trained
-
Be eating a structured, consistent diet
-
Have received age-appropriate health care
-
Be accustomed to being handled and observed daily
We believe early routine creates confident, emotionally stable Bengals—especially important for this intelligent, high-energy breed.

What to Prepare at Home
Before your kitten arrives, we recommend setting up a quiet, contained space where they can acclimate gradually.
Have ready:
-
A litter box (uncovered is best at first)
-
The same litter type your kitten is used to
-
Food and feeding schedule instructions provided by us
-
Fresh water in a shallow bowl
-
A cozy bed or blanket
-
A few simple toys (avoid overwhelming stimulation)
-
Scratching posts or pads
Bengals are curious and observant. Starting with a calm environment helps them build confidence quickly.

Arrival Day: The First 24 Hours
Your kitten may be alert, curious, or temporarily quiet upon arrival—all of this is normal.
What to expect:
-
Mild hesitation or hiding at first
-
Gradual exploration of their space
-
Strong interest in food once settled
-
Immediate or near-immediate litter box use
Keep interactions gentle. Allow your kitten to approach you rather than forcing engagement. Bengals bond quickly, but trust develops fastest when they feel in control of their environment.
Feeding & Routine in the First Week
Bengal kittens do best on structure and consistency.
We recommend:
-
Feeding small, frequent meals
-
Avoiding sudden diet changes
-
Maintaining hydration through moisture-rich food
-
Keeping feeding times predictable
Because Bengals are active and metabolically fast, consistent nutrition is essential to support energy, digestion, and behaviour. If transitioning foods, do so gradually over 7–10 days.
Upon request, we supply the cat food we feed our kittens to get you through transitional phases.
Our Bengals are fed home-cooked meals from their first days. We have a nutritional guide available in our shop to continue this regimen. It comes with 36 recipes and a guide to nutritional vitamins. It also teaches you how to meal prep.

The First Week: Settling In
During the first week, your kitten will:
-
Learn your household rhythms
-
Begin forming strong bonds
-
Increase confidence and playfulness
-
Show their natural curiosity and intelligence
It’s normal for Bengals to be vocal, interactive, and highly engaged. Provide daily play, mental stimulation, and gentle boundaries. This is a breed that thrives on interaction—not isolation.
